Value in all units

Runs entirely in your browser – nothing you enter is uploaded.

How to use the Unit Converter

  1. Choose a category such as length, weight or area.
  2. Enter a value and select the unit to convert from.
  3. Select the unit to convert to. You can also type in the right-hand box to convert backwards.
  4. Use the swap button to reverse the units, and see the value in all units in the table below.

Formula

Result = Value × (factor of “from” unit) ÷ (factor of “to” unit)
  • Temperature uses offsets instead of factors: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32 and K = °C + 273.15.
  • All factors use exact international definitions, e.g. 1 inch = 2.54 cm and 1 pound = 0.45359237 kg.

Worked example: Common Indian conversions

1 guntha = 1,089 sq ft ≈ 101.17 m². 40 guntha make 1 acre.

1 tola = 11.6638 g, so 10 grams of gold is about 0.857 tola.

5 ft 7 in = 170.18 cm, and 30 °C = 86 °F.

A note on land units

Traditional land units such as bigha, biswa and vigha differ from state to state, and even from district to district, so they are not included. Guntha (used in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka), square yards (gaj), acres and hectares are standard and are included.
