How to use the Random Number Generator

  1. Set the minimum and maximum values.
  2. Choose how many numbers to generate.
  3. Tick No repeats for a lucky draw, and Sort if you want them in order.
  4. Press Generate. Use Copy to paste the numbers anywhere.

Worked example: A lucky draw for 250 participants

Give each participant a number from 1 to 250. Set minimum 1, maximum 250, count 3 and tick “No repeats”.

Press Generate to get three different winning numbers, each chosen with equal probability.

How fair is it?

Numbers are generated with the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), the same source browsers use for security keys. The tool also avoids “modulo bias”, so every number in your range has exactly the same chance of being picked.

Are the numbers truly random?

They come from a cryptographically secure random generator, which is suitable for draws, games and sampling.

Can I generate numbers without repeats?

Yes. Tick “No repeats”. The count cannot exceed the number of values in the range.

Can I use negative numbers?

Yes. The minimum and maximum can be any whole numbers, including negatives.

How many numbers can I generate at once?

Up to 1,000 numbers in one go.
