How to use the Date Difference Calculator
- Pick the start date and the end date.
- Tick Include the end date if both days should be counted, such as for leave or hotel stays.
- See the difference in years, months and days, plus total days, weeks and working days.
- Use the quick buttons to jump the end date 30 days, 90 days or 1 year ahead.
Formula
- Working days count Monday to Friday only. Public holidays vary by state and are not removed.
Worked example: A 90-day notice period
You resign on 1 October 2026 with a 90-day notice period. Tap “+90 days” to get 30 December 2026 as the last working date.
Between 5 and 16 October 2026 (including both dates) there are 12 days, of which 10 are working days.
Should I include the end date?
It depends on what you are counting. A loan from 1 to 31 January runs for 30 days of interest (end date excluded), while leave from 1 to 5 March is 5 days of leave (end date included). When in doubt, check how your bank, employer or contract defines the period.
